Eggs + Morning Sickness = One Horrible Experience

As I type this, I want to vomit everywhere, but I am afraid to. Today I started feeling better (thanks B6!) and decided I would eat whatever I was craving. I ended up boiling 4 eggs and making them into deviled eggs. After I ate all 8 halves, I thought it'd be a good idea to eat a creme brulee cup. My question is WHY would I do that? I am so sick now and not looking forward to the 3 hour car ride I have ahead of me. The only thing keeping everything down is the fear of how it would taste coming back up. I am really writing this post as a reminder of what not to do for myself, but hopefully it will be a little entertainment for you as well.

8 Weeks Today!

Today baby is 8 weeks old! Only 7 more months until we are able to hold our baby. Nothing has really changed this week except that my symptoms have been added to. I now have raging morning sickness, fatigue, and heartburn. My stomach and throat hurt all of the time because they have been so abused. I also cannot open the fridge without gagging...it really is ridiculous. On a happy note, our next appointment is on March 5th which is only a week away! At that appointment we will set up our next sonogram, which will be around 11 or 12 weeks. By then baby will actually look like a human and not a blob. We are very excited about seeing our little baby again.

Above is my 8 week belly. Honestly, there is nothing to see except a little bloat, but it will be fun to compare pictures each week to see how I grow. Right now, I can't fit into any of my pants. I went to find a few new jeans and realized I was going to have to go up 2 sizes in order for me to button them. I decided to give in a buy a few pair of maternity jeans. I just roll the panel down and they are very comfortable.

I found this on another blog and loved it. I am going to fill it out each week.
How far along? 8 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: none...although my stomach tells a different story
Maternity clothes? Bella Band and a few pairs of jeans when I'm super bloated.
Stretch marks? One on my side, but we won't blame that on baby.
Sleep: My new bedtime is 8 or 9. I do have issues staying asleep when m/s hits though.
Best moment this week: Seeing baby and his wonderful heartbeat!
Movement: None yet.
Food cravings: None, baby and I hate everything except PBJ.
Gender: I'm thinking it will be a boy for some reason.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly Button in or out? Still in
What I miss: Being able to eat on a regular basis.
What I am looking forward to: The next sonogram in less than a month!
Weekly Wisdom: Deli meat will not give you listeria.
Milestones: Baby's heartbeat!

7w1d and We have a Heartbeat!

Disclaimer: From now on, we will be calling the baby "he" until we find out the sex in about 3 months.

Isn't this the most beautiful blob you've ever seen! He doesn't have legs or arms yet, but he is perfect! I was having some stomach pain, so my doctor decided to do an early ultrasound. The u/s tech said everything looks great and we are so excited to see how much the baby grows from now until our next ultrasound at 12.5 weeks.

My morning sickness has really hit now! I don't get sick everyday, but I feel sick all day everyday. It is definitely not the best thing I've experienced, but it's all worth it. I also have been sneezing a lot and cannot stay awake at night. My new bedtime is 8pm and I rarely make it to the bed. Other than that, I am feeling fine. I think next week I will start posting belly pictures (even though there won't be much to see) and hopefully will have a positive update on my morning sickness!

We're Pregnant!

We are so excited to announce that we are expecting our first little baby! As of today, I am 6 weeks and had my first bout of morning sickness this morning (well from 4am-2pm so we'll call it morning/early afternoon sickness) If you've never experience morning sickness before- it is horrible! Other than that, I have just been tired and craving random foods. Andrew has been wonderful and understanding. So far, he has made me a fresh strawberry pie, deviled eggs, and has driven to Qdoba more times than I can count. He is great and I cannot wait to see what an awesome dad he will be. As long as insurance covers what we think it will, we will have an ultrasound around 12 weeks (March 18th) and another around 20 weeks (May 13th). Our ultrasound at 20 weeks will be our big one where we find out what we are having. That's about all for now. We will try to update this once a week and will start posting belly pictures when there is something to see.

edit: Our due date is October 7, 2009. I totally forgot that piece of important information.
